Field Technical Support Assistant



An opportunity has arisen for a committed individual to join a growing software company based in Harpenden, Herts. The position will also involve work in other UK locations so you must be able to drive.

This varied role will only suit someone with drive and an outstanding work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills: anyone accepting this position must appreciate the responsibilities inherent in joining a small business team.

We are looking for someone with vision. We are involved with projects, installations, training and support of our bespoke product and we work with some of the UK’s largest prestigious automotive companies.  You will be expected to work under your own direction without close supervision providing concise and effective feedback to management when required.  If you're successful in this role you could, in the future, become a key player in the business that we have started to build.

Therefore, despite the primarily technical nature of the work, you will be expected, as with any professional appointment, to actively assist in growing the company’s client base.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support of Companies own specialist software

  • Support of MS Windows Desktop Operating Systems

  • Installation of systems at customer sites

  • Training for users one-to-one and formal training sessions


Essential Skills

  • Excellent written and spoken English (Top grade at Eng. Lang. GCSE or equivalent)

  • Patient and understanding I.T. support demeanour

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Real life experience of Windows environments

  • Good knowledge of other common MS technologies and intermediate networking

  • A general interest in technology and communications equipment relevant to small businesses

  • Full clean UK Driving Licence


Qualifications

  • A-Level, Degree or Vocational Qualifications in relevant subjects

  • Experience in a support environment is desirable

  • Experience within the automotive sector is advantageous

to £18k basic salary and company car
